Files you analyse

Sequence files you upload — FASTA, FASTQ, SAM, BAM — never leave your browser. They are loaded into the WebAssembly runtime and held in the Origin Private File System (OPFS) so intermediate pipeline outputs survive across steps.

OPFS storage is scoped to your origin and not visible to other sites. Files clear when you close the tab, when you use the in-app "clear stored files" controls, or when your browser evicts site storage. Lucimics never uploads file contents or filenames to our servers.

Account data

Most tools require a Lucimics account. Sign-in uses GitHub or Google OAuth. We receive and store the profile fields those providers expose at sign-in:

• Name, email address, and profile image
• Provider account identifier and OAuth tokens (used only to maintain your session)
• Approval status, admin flag, and last-login timestamp managed by Lucimics

New accounts begin in a pending state and are reviewed before access is granted. You can request deletion of your account by emailing the address below.

Tool usage telemetry

When a tool runs, Lucimics records a small row of metadata about the run so we can prioritise development and diagnose failures. The recorded fields are:

• Tool name and whether the run succeeded
• Input and output file sizes in bytes
• Elapsed run duration
• Whether example data was used, plus batch size where applicable

We do not record file contents, filenames, or sequence data of any kind. Runs initiated while signed out (where allowed) are stored without a user identifier.

Analytics

In production we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and improve the experience. Google may set cookies and collect usage data as described in their privacy policy .
